EAT NEW ZEALAND
A New Zealand food movement, Eat
New Zealand has been awarded the
annual Auckland Airport $100,000
tourism development grant for
its mission to develop ‘out of the
ordinary’ thinking to promote New
Zealand and support our vision to
become the world’s premium food
destination. The funding will assist
towards establishing a nationwide
food celebration that showcases the
story of New Zealand food alongside
traditional Matariki celebrations.
Chief executive Angela Clifford says
her organisation wants to support
the development of sustainable
food systems, making sure all
Kiwis have access to New Zealand
food. “We want to increase New
Zealand’s unique culinary credentials
by sharing our food stories with
the world. With our three biggest
tourism markets - Australia, China
and the USA - also being our three
largest food and beverage export
markets, this is a great opportunity
for our primary sectors. Whether
you are farming in Southland,
exporting beer from Wellington or
providing unique dining experiences
in Northland, this report highlights
opportunities both behind and
beyond the farm gate to connect
with consumers.”

traditional methods, to produce tamarillos
that taste good, are highly nutritious and
free from unwanted residues.

ADMARK VISUAL
The team at Hamilton-based company Admark Visual are feeling pretty proud
right now…not one, but six gold medals at the Pride in Print awards 2018. The
awards relate to work the team completed for BK, The Bean Machine and other
clients over the year. It looks busy for 2019 as well – in association with UPM
Raflatac, Admark is offering an innovative and sustainable wash-off label line
designed to maximise the recyclability of PET containers by washing off cleanly
and allowing easy recovery of high-value PET container flakes. With applications
for food and beverage, the product can be recycled in New Zealand. www.

NEW ZEALAND KING
SALMON (MARLBOROUGH)
New Zealand King Salmon uses its unique stories of
people, place and pride to create the ultimate salmon
experience, with New Zealand as the backbone for
each of its brands. Ōra King is the company’s unique
breed of King salmon. The company’s Regal Salmon
brand is founded on provenance, and tells the story
of the Marlborough Sounds, where a unique mix of
currents, water quality and temperatures gives Regal
Salmon its flavour, colour, texture and healthy omega-3
fatty acids. In awarding the company the Inspiring
Preference for New Zealand award at the NZ Export
Awards 2018, judge Rebecca Smith says the company
has absolute commitment to sharing its incredible story.
