BST is described as the original
pioneer of metal detectable
products for the food industry,
having worked with industry

‘detectable’ version
on the market that has
non-detectable working parts.
BST pens are BRC 8 compliant,
FDA food contact approved, EU
migration tested and “are the only
detectable plastic pens in the
world to be Japanese migration
tested”.

FDA set new standards on how
much coloured pigment can be
added to plastics something
BST immediately actioned
by reformulating their unique
compound in order to comply.
They then commissioned new
migration tests to make sure
their compound and products
continued to comply with all
standards.”
BST pens are anti-microbial,
shatter proof and, in write out
length tests conducted by two
independent bodies, their refills
wrote for over twice as long as
other comparable products on
the market.
Wells says that BST was also
the first company to introduce
the fully detectable refill with the
end cap made from their unique
XDetect compound. BST can tell
you when your pen was made, by
whom and on which machine so
that in the unlikely event of any
issues they can trace the cause.
BST sets high standards and
their product quality matrix runs
at 99% against a tolerance level
set at 98%.
