SHANGHAI-BOUND
FOR BREW AND BEVERAGE
China Brew/China Beverage 2018 is regarded as the most important event
for the brew and beverage processing industry in the Asia-Pacific region,
and will be held in October this year in Shanghai.
The biennial event – which
42 JULY 2018
first premiered in 1995 and
attracts more than 800 exhibitors
from 25 countries
– covers a space of 92,000
sq metres and has been elevated in
status due to tight co-operation between
its organisers and sister event drinktec
Munich based in Germany.
To be held over four days from October
23 to 26 at the Shanghai New International
Expo Centre in Shanghai Pudong,
all the latest products and solutions will
be at the fingertips of those who attend.
New Zealand event contact Robert Laing
from Messe Reps & Travel in Auckland
says CBB is a must-see for those involved
in beverage development and
manufacturing in this country.
“CBB 2018 now offers more international
exhibitors from all around the world
than ever before,” he says. “The move
to Shanghai from Beijing has set new
standards for the beverage and liquid
food industries. With nearly 10% more
exhibitors, China Brew China Beverage
is operating at new levels.
“A US pavilion organised by PMMI, a
UK pavilion organised by the Brewing,
Food and Beverage Industry Suppliers
Association, and an Italian pavilion…
these are just the tip of the iceberg in
terms of what visitors will expect to see.
“Add to that other exhibitors from
Austria, Canada, France, Israel, Japan,
Taiwan, Thailand and many other countries,
as well as from China – it’s not
hard to see the value for investment
in attending important events such as
these. In fact, around 23,000 sq metres
of exhibition space will be occupied by
international products – a new record
for CBB.”
One such attendee is German Food
Processing and Packaging Machinery
Manufacturers Association managing
director Richard Clemens, who will run
a pavilion this year. “The move from
Beijing to Shanghai was a milestone
for the event,” he says. “CBB is now in
the right place for the Asian market and,
now that it has the venue in Shanghai,
it has been able to further improve on
an already high level.”
No matter what the need, solutions will
be covered at the show – whether it be
individual products, special systems or
bottling plant. The entire repertoire of
the beverage and liquid food industry
will be on display, Laing says, from processing,
filling and packaging through to
intralogistics, automation, raw materials,
additives and water treatment.
Product categories include raw materials
and additives, process technology/
automation and IT solutions, filling and
packaging technology, aseptic systems,
containers/packaging materials/closures
and PET technology, parts and components,
water and wastewater/energy
systems, logistics and transportation
equipment. Supply markets include alcoholic
beverages, non-alcoholic beverages,
milk and dairy products, oils and
fats, and liquid food.
An added bonus this year are two international
visitor days designed specifically
for international visitors wanting
to make the most of their trip to China.
The event has taken into account the
special interests of international visitors
and designed some packages that
include VIP treatments, useful on-site
orientation guides and travel services.
The free package boasts shuttle buses
from hotels, international VIP cards with
free entry to a VIP lounge, a welcome
kit, catalogue, recommended visitor
routes, entry to programmes and the
young technology area.
Laing says Messe Reps & Travel has
been handling travel and accommodation
planning for visitors to trade shows
for more than 25 years, and can assist
with airfares and accommodation recommendations
and bookings.
“Our knowledge of Shanghai – the hotels,
the transport to the fairground for
example, will help visitors to get the
UPCOMING EVENT
best value for their visit,” he says. “For
example, the Chinese Consulate in New
Zealand advises that trade show visitors
to China should obtain a Business Visa
(Type M),” Laing says. “For this type of
visa, you need a letter of introduction.
As part of our package offer, we can
arrange this for you.
“As New Zealand beverage markets hit
new highs, now is the perfect time to
leave our shores to see what the world
has to offer.”
