ROBOTS DON’T NEED TO BE COMPLICATED
Not only do robots not need to be complicated, but they don’t
need to be difficult to install, program or operate... Igus has the
solution.
The team at Igus Germany has developed a
simple ‘plug’n’play’ (up to) five-axis robot. Simply
take the Igus robolinkDCi out of the box, plug in the
power supply and touch display controller, and away
you go. No additional switch box and no off-site assembly.
With intuitive control software, programming the movement
sequences is no longer a head-scratching task.
Programming is not just limited to the touch screen
controller; it is PC compatible as well. This Igus
product is truly accessible to the everyday person
and is compatible with other manufacturers and

KEEPING SITE SAFETY ON THE RIGHT TRACK

SiteSoft GeoTrack tracks your contractors and
visitors and meets the compliance requirements of
the 2015 Health & Safety at Work Act.
“Our solution uses GPS tracking technologies to
determine if a visitor or contractor is entering a site,
is onsite or is leaving a site. Upon arrival SiteSoft
GeoTrack date and time stamps the visit and
delivers a site-specific induction to the person’s
mobile device. They are then required to view the
provided induction material and acknowledge that
it was read,” says SiteSoft.
They are also prompted to provide a reason
for their site visit which makes reporting quick,
convenient and thorough.
So how are contractors tracked? A GeoFence
is set up on a map. A GeoFence (magic fence,
invisible fence as some call it) is an area marked
on a map. Think of it as a virtual perimeter. When
a contractor crosses the virtual perimeter, they are
marked to be onsite. You can see it live in your
onsite reports.
You can also register hazards, risks and incidents
using SiteSoft which can automatically displayed to
visitors and contractors when they enter your site.
plug-in expansions.
The maximum payload is a respectable 5kg; the position
accuracy is less than 1mm and of course being an Igus
product, this is lubrication-free. It really couldn’t get any easier.
For more information visit www.igus.co.nz, from here you can
discover videos showing you just how easy the robolinkDCi
system really is to set up and use in your business. The
website allows you to ‘build’ and ‘simulate’ your robot with the
Igus online configurator allowing you a real understanding of
movement and the working area of the robot prior to ordering.
