Featuring stainless steel open-channel construction for applications in which contamination
of the product or equipment cannot be tolerated, the new bulk-out bulk bag discharger is
unlike hollow steel frame members and its open-channel frame is devoid of cavities or recesses
where bacteria, mould and other contaminants can breed…allowing rapid, thorough
wash down with water, steam or cleaning solution, reducing the risk of cross-contamination
between changeovers and providing unobstructed inspection for verifying cleanliness. To
meet food, dairy and pharmaceutical requirements, construction includes continuous welds,
ground smooth and flush with adjoining members. As a ‘BFC’ model, the discharger is
equipped with a cantilevered I-beam with electric hoist and trolley for loading and unloading
of bulk bags without the use of a forklift. BFC Series dischargers are available in more
than 30 configurations constructed and finished to pharmaceutical, food, dairy or industrial
standards. Also available are BFF Series dischargers with a removable bag lifting frame for
loading and unloading of bulk bags using a forklift, and BFH half frame models that rely on a

Veolia Water Technologies will use its AnoxKaldnes Biological Activated Sludge solution to provide
multinational food manufacturer Kraft Heinz China with a wastewater treatment solution for its new
soy sauce plant in Guangdong, China. The implementation of Veolia’s technologies at Kraft Heinz’s
new 13ha plant will enable them to meet the stringent national and provincial discharge standards
in producing 125,000 tonnes of soy sauce per year. Optimally designed to provide a volumetric
loading capacity that is up to three times’ higher than conventional activated sludge, the BAS
biological wastewater treatment solution is a combination of Veolia’s compact AnoxKaldnes Moving
Bed Biofilm Reactor (MBBR) and activated sludge processes. This will allow Kraft Heinz to cope
with an overall higher organic load than conventional activated sludge processes, while requiring a
