HTS RESPONDS TO
VANDALISM WITH
REVOLVING DOOR
SECURITY PROTECTION
N ew Zealand access control
specialist company HTS is
introducing an advanced
and automated burglar resistance
package for use with the globally
popular Tourniket revolving door
range of Royal Boon Edam.
The automated resistance Class 3
shield doors option for Boon Edam’s
Tourniket range features a highly
durable drive unit with an automated
locking system to complement the
shield doors’ compliance with the
RC 3 Standard of burglary and
vandalism resistance.
The new package responds to the
rising global incidence of vandal
and burglar attacks on buildings,
90% of which are opportunistic,
and which are leading to higher
demand for burglar-resistant doors
on both private and public buildings,
says HTS managing director Noel
Marharaj.
HTS distributes Boon Edam security
entrances throughout New Zealand,
giving the Kiwi market access to a
range of architecturally harmonious
and stylish products used globally
by scores of Fortune 500 companies
in 27 countries, including corporate
HQs, legislatures, government
agencies, diplomatic posts and
public and private facilities prone to
unwanted attention.
FLEXIBLE BURGLARY
PROTECTION
The certified RC3 shield doors are
available as part of Boon Edam’s
specialised protection package
offering, including:
• Remote switching between
operating modes (day, night and
secured)
• Instant lockdown in the event of
protests, riots or terror threats
• Automatic winter position during
off-peak traffic times to enhance
the interior comfort levels
• Smooth and durable operation
• Safe low-energy operation for
supervised and autonomous
operation
COMPLIANCE SECURED
Boon Edam’s manual attack
protection packages have been
certified to comply with applicable
international standards EN1627 and
EN356. The standards specify the
requirements and testing methods of
manual attack-resistance construction
for pedestrian doors, windows,
facades, grilles and shutters. The
results of the tests are officially
certified.
“The Tourniket revolving door is the
most versatile entrance solution
in our Boon Edam range, and this
update positions it as a leader in the
market when it comes to engineering
quality, safety and security,” says Mr
Marharaj.

ENERPAC SELFLOCKING
CUBE JACK
LIFTS PRODUCTIVITY,
50% FEWER CYCLES
A new compact,
portable and safe
hydraulic solution for
incremental lifting and lowering
of heavy loads up to 50 tons,
the SCJ-Series Self-Locking
Cube Jack, is being introduced
to Australasia and Papua New
Guinea by Enerpac.
The global market leader in
heavy lifting technology and
high-pressure hydraulics says
the SCJ-50 Cube Jack uses a
base lifting frame and self-aligning,
lightweight steel cribbing
blocks to provide high-capacity
and stabilised lifting.
The new technology offers
a safe, controlled and more
efficient alternative to climbing
jacks using wooden cribbing.
It’s safe, simplified operation
sequence, with automated
mechanical locking, can be
accomplished with 50% fewer
cycles than climbing jacks, says
Enerpac national sales manager,
Darryl Lange.
The compact size and portability
of the Self-Locking Cube Jack
offers a powerful solution for
numerous applications, such
as equipment maintenance,
vehicle unloading or jacking a
transformer, module, or bridge.
“The SCJ-50 Cube Jack
represents a significant advance
in safety, ease-of-use and productivity
in compact, portable
lifting solutions. The incremental
system mechanically locks the
load as each cribbing block is
manually added or removed,
instead of being held by
hydraulic pressure.
“Once the mechanical lock
engages, the lift cylinder retracts,
and another cribbing block can
be added or removed. This safer,
simplified operation sequence
can be accomplished with 50%
fewer cycles than climbing jacks,
yielding a substantial increase
in productivity as well,” says Mr
Lange.
The SCJ-50 Cube Jack
is based on an operating
principle similar to Enerpac’s
proven 125-750 ton Jack-Up
Systems, but in a vastly
smaller footprint and without
the need for electrical
controls.
