Klüber Lubrication impressively
demonstrates how tailor-fit lubricants
can increase food safety and, at the
same time, improve process efficiency
Speciality lubricants for the baking industry:
We have the right recipe
There are many challenges facing you as a baker: food safety, reliable manufacturing processes, reduction of operational
and maintenance costs. The selection of the right lubricant can play a major role in food safety, avoiding loss of production
and reducing costs.
As a global leader in speciality lubricants, Klüber Lubrication offers a comprehensive line of NSF H1 registered lubricants and
services that ensures certified hygiene for the entire process. These include OEM approved and recommended oils and
greases for your:
• Oven chain & bearings: Klüberfood NH1 CH 2-220 Plus & Klübertemp GR AR 555
• Proofer chain & bearings: Klüberfood NH1 C 8-80 & Klüberfood NH1 94-402
• Chiller/Freezer chain & bearings: Klüberoil 4 UH1-15 & Klübersynth UH1 14-31

and sustainability.
On the one hand, the tribology expert
demonstrates how minimum quantity
lubrication of transport chains can minimise
the risk of contamination and
on the other hand, a number of new
synthetic high-temperature greases
for bearing lubrication can significantly
extend the service intervals of bearings,
which also increases process
efficiency. All Klüber Lubrication products
for the food industry are NSF H1
registered respectively certified to
ISO 21469.
Particularly for the lubrication of oven
transport chains - for example in large
industrial bakeries - Klüber Lubrication
has developed a new synthetic
high-temperature oil which is able
to dissolve and regenerate residues,
which helps reduce maintenance
costs significantly. The optimised
thermal stability of the new, regenerative
chain oil also leads to reduced
lubricant consumption.
“Our new high-temperature chain oil
provides for outstanding wear protection,
so that continuous minimum
quantity lubrication will help prolong
the chain lives significantly,” Klüber
Lubrication global market manager
food industry Paolo Spolaore says.
“The oil therefore not only meets
the highest hygiene standards in the
food industry, but also increases the
reliability of production processes.”
Based on an innovative lubrication
concept, Klüber Lubrication has
succeeded in developing a new
high-temperature grease for a wide
range of applications in the food
industry, which is able to realise its
full potential at permanent temperatures
of up to 160 degrees Celsius.
This was made possible by using an
innovative, FDA-approved polyurea
thickener developed by Klüber
Lubrication. Applications include
ovens in the baking industry, proofing
cabinets, conveyors or motors. “In
the lubrication of bearings that are
operated at high temperatures, manufacturers
often have been obliged
to lower expectations with regard to
food safety and resort to industrial
greases,” Spolaore says. “Since
our new high-temperature grease is
designed for temperature peaks up to
180 degrees Celsius, it is the perfect
solution, not only for the lubrication
of bearings in the baking industry but
also for other food industry segments.
In addition, the number of necessary
lubricants can be reduced, minimising
the risk of mix-up.”
Due to the performance and high
load carrying capacity of a synthetic
base oil, extended lubrication intervals
and maintenance intervals can be
achieved at medium and high temperatures,
while lower quantities of
lubricant are needed in the production
process.
