READY MADE GETS A MAKEOVER
WITH MY FOOD BAG
Introducing MADE – a
fresh, healthy ready-made
meal service that combines
convenience with taste.
With time-poor
Kiwis resorting to
takeaways at least
once a week, My
Food Bag is launching MADE - a
new ready-made meal brand to
offer households quick and healthy
dinners or lunches.
From the popular My Food Bag
meal-kit delivery service, MADE
will follow a subscription model
for customers who wish to have a
convenient, wholesome and – most
importantly – tasty meal option on
hand for those evenings when there’s
little time or energy to follow a recipe.
The subscriptions will offer
customers the opportunity to buy
4, 6, 9 or 12 individual meals each
week, with those meals starting from
$12.99 each.
The hand-made meal range will be
fresh, rather than frozen, and follow
My Food Bag co-founder Nadia
Lim’s Nude Food philosophy with
each meal featuring fresh seasonal
vegetables and local free-range
meats.
My Food Bag CEO Kevin Bowler
says the new range is perfect for
those nights when time’s short, and
will offer an easy, healthy alternative
to takeaways,
“We conducted a survey of our
customers and found that 64% of
them were having takeaways once
a week or more, often because they
were getting home late from work,”
he says.
“We know that modern family living
means it’s not always possible to
get in the kitchen to cook dinner
every night, so we wanted to offer
customers a healthy, ready-made
meal solution that’s tasty and easier
on their pocket.
“Fresh ready-made meals are proving
a significant trend in many overseas
markets, so we’re looking forward to
providing Kiwis with similar nutritious,
time-saving options.”
My Food Bag’s survey of 369
customers found that convenience
was seen as the key benefit of
takeaways, however 54% of those
people saw takeout meals as
unhealthy, too. Thirty-nine percent
also said they were expensive.
My Food Bag co-founder Nadia Lim
says the MADE range of meals offer
all the taste and flavour you would
expect from a My Food Bag meal
that you would cook yourself. “Each
meal is cooked by hand in a small
batch so it’s just like eating a My
Food Bag meal... without having to
cook it. These meals are the perfect
solution for those busy nights or
weeks when you’d usually resort to
beans on toast or a takeaway. The
MADE meals are also nothing like
the “old-school” ready meals you
find in supermarket freezers which
can be bland and overly processed.
With MADE, we’re out to prove that
convenience, flavour and freshness
can go hand in hand.”
MADE’s ready-meal range was
available to order from Friday 31 May.

US IMPORTER
SAVES $900 A DAY
WITH KIWI BISON
C-LIFTS
Bison, describing itself as a global
specialist in container lift systems,
has announced another successful
installation of its best-selling C-Lift
A Series in Pittsburg, California.
"We're excited to be helping
American industry save money,
achieve efficiencies, and improve
site safety", says Bison CEO, Greg
Fahey.
Masterank imports wax in 20 foot
ISO tank containers for distribution
across the United States. As it
takes days to discharge the wax,
Masterank was paying up to $900 a
day in chassis detention fees.
"They were simply wasting
thousands of dollars a month,”
says Mr Fahey. "Just because they
were not aware of our container
lifting solutions.”
Another challenge is that the ISO
tanks are placed very close to each
other in a confined area. There is
not enough space for a forklift,
crane or other equipment to handle
the containers.
“Now, when an ISO tanker arrives
on a truck, Masterank simply uses
the C-Lift A Series to remove it
from the chassis and place it on the
ground. The truck and the chassis
leave the site immediately,” says
Mr Fahey. “This means there are no
detention fees to pay.
“Not only can the Bison C-Lift
handle containers in spaces other
equipment cannot,” says Fahey, “In
many cases it is safer, faster, and
more cost effective.”
