THE NEW BENCHMARK IN AUTOMATED LASER CUTTING
COMPLETELY INTEGRATED, METCO’S END-TO-END PRODUCTION LINE OF TRUMPF MACHINERY CAN CUT
COSTS OF UP TO 60% BY REDUCING THE SET-UP TIME TO 22 SECONDS PER SHEET WHEN COMPARED TO 90
SECONDS PER SHEET WITHOUT AUTOMATION.
E ngineering jaws hit floors
when they walk into Metco
Engineering’s Wellington workshop.
Towering above them is a new piece
of kit. In fact, it’s quite some piece
of kit.
Staggering, and resembling a
horseshoe in shape, it’s the largest
and only one of its kind in New
Zealand.
Currently, the machines aren’t
running unmanned and 24/7, but
Metco’s ceo Paul Jessup says,
“They have given us the capacity of
being able to do that”.
Mr Jessup says they are cutting
24 hours a day, just not every day,
yet, and the new machinery means
The staggering TruStore 3030
reaches to the roof. It has too; it can
house 51 pallets of up to 3 ton each.
The built-in LiftMaster Compact
does all the unloading and loading
between twin TruLaser machines,
book-ending the production line.
