Over the years the business
has been through many
changes of ownership but
during that time it has established
many well-known Kiwi brands from
Jungle Juice to King Traditional
Soup Mix. These days most of the
old brands have been sold off and
the company’s main focus is on
contract packing for the local and
export markets.
Some recent acquisitions have
brought back some branded
products with Supreme, The
Goodness and Kapiti Kitchen
syrups being the most recent and
there are more in the pipeline for
2020.
Hansells Masterton has packed
just about any product you can
think of over the years, but now
the core business is dry powder
and liquid blending and packing.
“Powders can be blended and
packed into multiple formats from
2g to 25kg’s with emphasis on
sachet packing, but we can handle
most formats including pouches,
jars, tubs, bags and boxes. We
have three dairy RMP certified
sachet packing lines for export
products, with further plans for
expansion underway to enable
packing into tubs and pouches,”
says the company.
Typical products include milk
powders, nutritional dairy
powders, dessert mixes, soups,
essences and the list goes on.
“We have recently upgraded our
liquids packing lines and can
now offer hot filling as well as
traditional cold filling into bottles
and jars from 25ml to 25 litres. We
are hot filling toppings, syrups and
sauces into plastic and glass, with
products like chocolate ice cream
topping and real fruit cordials.”
Quality and flexibility are Hansells
Masterton’s key selling points and
it believes these set it apart from
the competition.
“We hold BRC A grade certification
and some of the others include
HACCP, GMP and BioGro
Organic certification.
“We are flexible on batch sizes
and small runs are no problem.
We have several packing
lines and equipment can be
move around lines to provide
versatile packing and secondary
packaging options for our
customers, including carboard
tubes, boxes, multipacks and
kits with multiple components.”
