WELDING
BUILT FOR THE TOUGHEST
ENVIRONMENTS
The WSV (WeldSeam Vision) is a weld seam
inspection system for the inspection of laser
and MIG/MAG-welding seams.
WeldSeam Vision
is optimised for
the inspection
of MIG/
MAG-welding and solder seams
as well as laser weld seams. For
the MIG/MAG- and solder seams
the WSV offers a field of view of
20 – 30 mm and for the laser
weld seams a field of view of 10
– 15 mm. The inspection system
detects errors with sizes from
0,1 mm and with a resolution
smaller than 1 μm depth even the
smallest errors can be detected.
Therefore WeldSeam Vision is
suitable for demanding inspection
tasks such as e.g. for autobody,
axel bearing parts or eV-batteries.
WeldSeam vision hard-
and software
The WSV system is a “ready-touse”
equipped system and can
be delivered for different weld
seam sizes. The sensor head is
only connected via a single GigE
cable and therefore it is easy
to integrate into a robot. The
powerful EyeVision software for
weld seam inspection detects
all common errors and can be
adapted to inspect new weld
seams and fulfill new inspection
tasks.
For an easy integration into plants
the WSV has different interfaces
such as Profinet and Modbus
available. In addition, it supports
OPC UA for the integration into a
SCADA system, as well as UDP
and TCP/IP communication.
The easy-to-handle graphical
interface can be used by
beginners as well as PLCprogrammers
in only a few
minutes. The System works with
24 V and in addition has RS232,
RS485 and digital I/O.
What is MIG/MAGwelding?
MIG/MAG-welding is an arc
welding process, where an
endless wire electrode is melting
under a protective gas cover. This
method is very versatile when it

A heavy-duty welder needs heavyduty
protection to match. The new
3M Speedglas G5-01 welding helmet
has been specifically designed for
high amperage welding in hardwearing
environments: here are three
features that make it the definitive
heavy-duty helmet:
Hours continuous
respiratory protection
Heavy-duty welding applications
produce elevated levels of welding
fume, which we now know to be
carcinogenic. The good news is the
Speedglas G5-01 comes standard
with a 3M Adflo Heavy-Duty PAPR
system, protecting welders against
toxic particles and gases for up to
12 hours.
This award winning respirator is
compliant with local Australian
and New Zealand Standards and
has also achieved the APF 1000
performance level
used in the US.
This means, if correctly worn, the
air you breathe will be at least 1,000
times cleaner than if you were
welding unprotected.
A lens that limits eye strain
The G5-01VC lens is designed
to ensure that welding at higher
amperages is not a strain on your
eyes. To that end, the G5-01 has
the largest dark shade range of any
Speedglas lens, including an extra
dark shade of 14.
The lens then continues to look
after your eyes as you exit the
dark state! Every welder knows
how uncomfortable it can be to
suddenly switch from dark to light
state, especially when welding at
high amperages. The G5-01VC lens
includes an intermediate shade of
7 for a two-step recovery, breaking
up the transition and enabling you to
switch in comfort.
Climate control for
keeping cool
To counteract the high temperatures
generated by heavy-duty welding,
the innovative Speedglas G5-01
airduct system lets you customise
the airflow in your helmet to suit
your preferences. Enjoy a steady
stream of fresh air to the areas
of the helmet you need it
most, helping you cool down
and weld more comfortably
in the process.
