Electrical engineers to the forefront at new show
Manufacturers and suppliers will be connecting
with electrical engineers, industrial
electricians and automation specialists
in November at ElectriTech 2018.
Electrical engineers are at the forefront
of some of today’s most important innovations
whether working for the private
sector, government, or major research
institutes.
“Recently, they’ve contributed to big
changes in energy efficiency, mobile
technology, accessibility, transportation,
telecommunication,” says Rachel Hobbs-
Price, event organiser.
“The field of electrical engineering has
grown and branched out into a number of
specialised categories, including power
generation and transmission systems,
motors, batteries and control systems.
Electrical engineering also includes
electronics, which has itself branched
into an even greater number of subcategories,
such as radio frequency (RF)
systems, telecommunications, remote
sensing, signal processing, digital circuits,
instrumentation, audio, video and
optoelectronics.”
Ms Hobbs-Price says that if it's a practical,
real-world device that produces, conducts
or uses electricity, in all likelihood, it was
designed by an electrical engineer.
ElectriTech 2018 – Powering Innovation +
Technology is a trade show and seminar
programme and is a dedicated electrical
engineering event.

Gates launches
industry-first hose
Gates Australia has announced the
introduction of a new multi-purpose
hose line that serves the
needs of three distinct markets:
fuel transfer, hydraulic return and
suction lines, and 20R5 coolant
applications. The Multi Master SD
MegaFlex line is the first-of-itskind
to simultaneously meet SAE
100R4, SAE J30R5, and SAE J20R5
requirements. It has a 1:1 bend
radius, an ARPM Class A tube and
is also MSHA compliant.
The hose provides customers
with a solution to a broad range
of demanding applications. The
nitrile tube has excellent oil and
fuel resistance, and is compatible
with air, water, and coolant. Its
corrugated chloroprene cover
and steel helix reinforcement give
it superior 1:1 flexibility and make
it effectively kink free. It can be
used from -40°F to +250°F (- 40°C
to +121°C) in both suction and
discharge applications.
