stainless-steel bends
are made by Global
Stainless limited, up to
500mm in diameter for
dairy factories and other food and
beverage industries.
Lincoln Raikes, managing director
of the south Taranaki business says,
“Our smooth radius sweeping bends
provide a solution to the problems
that segmented/lobster back bends
have with damaging product and
excessive back pressure.
“Our bends are just as smooth as the
tube or duct welded to it, and the 4
weld seams in the length of the bend
are less likely to interrupt product flow
than the butt weld done on factory
installation. We have hundreds of 5,
6, 7- and 8-inch stainless steel bends
in dairy factories throughout New
Zealand and have exported as well.”
Other industries that have used
Global Stainless long radius bends
are the wine and beer, potato chip,
urea fertiliser, casein, and cement
conveying.
The 4 -weld seams running the
length of the bend are food grade
approved. The company can make
these bends up to 500mm (20 inch)
in diameter, in any radius greater
than 3D (3 times radius to the
diameter) and thicknesses from
1.5mm to 3mm in both 304 and 316
type stainless steel.
Global Stainless Limited rolls
stainless steel bends in various
sizes up to 4-inch diameter dairy
tube and can produce a bend that
does not reduce in diameter.
The company recently invested in
4-inch plastic dye rollers and claim
that there is no roller scuffing
marks on their rolled bends.
Global stainless also provides a
service to other stainless-steel
fabricators by manufacturing
dome ends and cone tops for
tanks and pressure vessels and
make stainless steel spheres on
request from other fabricators or
mirror polished artwork for fine art
collectors around the globe.
