FOOD THERMOMETER REDESIGNED TO CUSTOMER NEEDS
A new makeover for the SATO
SK-270 series waterproof food
thermometer has made it the ideal
choice for customers with food
production applications.
After extensive consultation with
customers using the thermometer
for temperature checking food
during production, SATO identified
several areas for improvement of
their already popular SK-270WP
thermometer and has developed a
specific model for food production
applications.
The new SK-270WP-K is easier
to operate, more hygienic and
eliminates sources of possible
contamination.
The ergonomic design and
simplified 2-button control panel
make the thermometer easy to use
and operate with gloved hands.
Measurement begins after the
power button is pressed without
any set up required and in the
case of rapidly changing readings
the temperature displayed can be
sampled using the ‘Hold’ button.
At start-up the serial number and
calibration date are shown so
that users can make sure that the
thermometer remains identifiable
and within calibration while
removing the risk of labels peeling
off and contaminating food.
Housed in a robust polycarbonate
body the SK-270WP-K is resistant
to high temperature. Durability is
further improved by a rubber buffer
around the sides which reduces
impact damage.
A waterproof housing, conforming
to IP67, makes the thermometer
suitable for use in wet environments,
able to be immersed temporarily
and also easy to clean using running
water or wiping down with alcohol
(when the probe is connected).
Risk of contamination has been
reduced by removing the hook eye
from the case, so food can’t be
contaminated by getting trapped in
the eye or the eye breaking off and
entering the production chain.
Users can choose from 8 available
probes including several penetration
probes, an immersion probe, low
temperature probe, sleeve type and
long stem.
Added functions are still available
with the SK-270WP, 5-button model.
This is now available with or without
the hook eye. The SK-270WP
includes HACCP mode; where once
a chosen temperature is reached the
timer automatically starts and after
set time the user is alerted through
audible and visual alarms.
