What ifm is describing

range of point level
switches known as
the LMT series, is now
available specifically
designed for the food
and beverage industry.
These sensors can recognise the
medium it is in contact with.
Until now, point level sensors of all
shapes and technologies, simply
switch when immersed in liquid,
irrespective of what the liquid is.
Consider how the new LMT series
can improve performance, while
adding to process safety.
The sensor recognises if the
medium is product versus a cleaning
agent. Operators can safely avoid
contamination, while saving the need
for a second ‘conductivity’ sensor,
often used to perform this function
in the same tank. One LMT replaces
two sensors.
LMT series level sensors have
advanced micro-processors, that
continuously monitor the level of
build-up, or deposits that are normal
during production. Compensation
for this build-up can be electronically
programmed to ignore these
normally troublesome deposits
during production.
Being an IO-Link sensor, when
connected to an IO-Link Master,
the process medium data can
be transmitted directly the PLC
for control purposes, and the IT
system for Quality Assurance and
performance monitoring.
