Kukamet Toggle Clamps introduced into the Hi-Q range in 2015 continue to be a popular choice with
their customers. This is because Kukamet toggle clamps are high quality, very affordable and Hi-Q has
stock for immediate dispatch.
When it comes to manual clamping equipment, these toggle clamp features include high quality
galvanised steel which has been produced specifically for Kukamet. Protector parts ensure there is no
pinching of fingers and the plastic handles are food and health grade safe.
As a result of their excellent power-to-movement ratio, simple installation and quick easy action, toggle
clamps have multiple applications. Uses include fixing steel sheets and parts during metal fabrication,
automotive welding, metal processing and woodworking.
Hi-Q’s growing range of Kukamet stock includes; horizontal and vertical, modular, latch with hook, light
duty, push-pull type, straight line and pneumatic clamps with various mounting styles.

While moving sheet metal is commonplace in the
metal processing industry, it is often complicated.
Often, several workers are usually needed to move
metal sheets in order to feed a cutting or punching
system. Large and very thin sheets pose additional
difficulty due to their low stability.
Because of this, metal sheets with their uniform
dimensions and smooth, non-slip surfaces are ideally
suited for vacuum lifting technology.
With the Aero-lift vacuum lifts, large metal sheets
can easily be transported, by one person, over

long distances. from a moving floor shelf to a laser
cutting system. The vacuum lifter is easy to operate
and has an adjustable grip, speeding up and
simplifying the process making the entire workflow
more efficient.
By arranging the suction plates to match the
dimensions, it is possible to prevent sagging or
buckling of the product to be transported. The
hot dip galvanised traverse construction ensures
long-term corrosion protection and the high-quality
individual components guarantee maximum stability.
You probably have lock out tag out items but are they part
of fully supported process or just some pad locks and
tags?
Permits are effectively a means of communication between
site management, plant supervisors and operators, and
those who carry out the work.
Examples of high-risk jobs where a written permit to work
procedure may need to be used include hot work such as
welding, vessel entry(confined space), cutting into pipes
carrying hazardous substances and work that requires
electrical or mechanical isolation to name a few. It is also a
means of coordinating different work activities to avoid
conflicts.
These are and should be used in engineering and
manufacturing industries and involve procedures
to request, review, authorise, document and most
importantly, de-conflict tasks to be carried out by front
line workers.
If you have a system when was the last time it was
reviewed? If you don’t have one do you need one? Do
you have people trained to ensure everything is done
correctly? Major Oak Safety Training (MOST) can help.
