ALGAE
POWER
SOAKING UP MORE CO2
THAN 400 TREES
Algae and scientists might
have finally met on the right
playing field terms of how
to harness the plant’s natural organic
processes and high carbon absorbing
abilities and US company Hypergiant
claims it can produce astonishing
results.
The newly announced Eos Bioreactor
– announced for 2020 - measures 90
x 90 x 210cm and is designed to be
installed in urban environments where
it captures and sequesters carbon
from the atmosphere, and produces
clean bio-fuels that could be used
to further reduce a building's carbon
footprint.
The harvesting technology is claimed
to be so efficient that it can do the
work of more than 400 trees.
