TWO-STAGE OIL-FREE ROTARY
SCREW COMPRESSORS BY KAESER
Whether for the food, beverages,
pharmaceutical or electronics sectors,
many sensitive manufacturing processes
require high quality and absolutely clean
compressed air. For these applications,
Kaeser Compressors presents its
comprehensive range of two-stage oil-free
rotary screw compressors. This range
includes the CSG-2 series of oil-free rotary
screw compressors, with drive powers up
to 355 kW. Available air or water cooled,
they are additionally available with an
integrated compressed air dryer (37 - 200
kW). The CSG-2 T series with integrated ‘T’
refrigeration air dryer models are suitable
for applications that require pressure dew
points to +3oC, and offer the end user a
complete compressed air system package
- wherever an efficient and dependable
source of high quality and clean compressed
air is required. For a virtual reality experience
of the CSG-2 series dry-running rotary
screw compressors, and to learn more
about the Industrie 4.0 capabilities of Kaeser
compressed air technology, join Kaeser on
stand number 31 at NMEC 2018, November
13 to 15, Energy Events Centre in Rotorua.

FORKLIFT TRAINING
SUPPORTS LITERACY EFFORTS
Language and literacy barriers are a serious
issue when providing training to employees
that operate dangerous machinery. Tasman
Training’s online forklift course, available
via DT Driver Training’s driver education
website, offers a number of innovative
ways of ensuring that forklift operators
have understood the learning materials,
regardless of their level of English reading or
comprehension.
Director Darren Cottingham says, “Not
everyone is good at reading and many
people have English as a second language.
The course contains clear video and

animation to demonstrate the concepts,
accompanied by voiceover in English. The
videos can be slowed down, if required.
Every question in the assessments has
an English audio recording and can be
translated on-screen from English into 103
languages including the most commonly
spoken languages in New Zealand – Te Reo
Maori, Samoan, Chinese and Hindi.”
Companies have a responsibility to ensure
their workers are competent and understand
the hazards when operating machinery.
Multilingual training is inclusive and provides
a better outcome in workplace training.
SIDEL E-LEARNING
PORTAL LAUNCHED
A proactive, inspired work culture and ongoing skill training are key factors in today’s beverage
industry. Shifting demographics, growing urbanisation, globalisation and digitalisation are
all driving consumers’ drinking habits towards increased convenience, sustainability factors
and health benefits. To help manufacturers keep up with this highly demanding market, Sidel
introduces its new e-learning portal, designed to train the company’s employees and the staff
from customers’ side via a highly customised approach. The tool is an integral part of Sidel’s
Blended Learning platform, where teaching is partly carried out digitally and partly face-toface
in hands-on training sessions. This results in greatly improving employees’ skills, safety,
and productivity as well as contributing to minimise costs in the long term. Manufacturers
active in the food, beverage, home and personal care industries are continuously investing in
training their teams to reap a number of benefits: minimised reaction time, reduced production
stops, and increased overall efficiency and safety in the workplace, to mention but a few.
Not less important, regularly attending training sessions helps operators increase motivation,
engagement, and commitment. www.sidel.com
