Since then, however, larger machines (up to 16 tonners) have been introduced, and the range extended to include three and four wheel electric forklifts and reach trucks. The latest shipment extended the model range even further, as Northern Forklifts staff unloaded a selection of warehousing equipment including light and heavy duty powered pallet trucks and walkie stackers. Hangcha’s ‘Mini’ range is a truly cost effective materials-handling product for small volume low -utilisation sites. That said - with a load capacity of 1500kg for the power pallet truck, 1000kg to 1.6m height for the small stacker and up to 3.3m on the larger model – the range is impressive. The Minis have smooth Curtis controls, come with on-board chargers, long life no-maintenance gel batteries, and can be upgraded to a bigger stacker range with 1500kg capacity to 4.3m height. The premium range powered pallet trucks are state-of-the-art stuff – 2 tonne capacity, AC drive, a powerful 220-amp battery and an extremely rugged leg and load wheel design put Hangcha up there with any European or American product. “The design and construction of the load wheels and legs will go a long way to minimising the bugbear of pallet trucks – constant need for repairs and maintenance to those components,” Phil Butler says.
