PROFILE OF SUCCESS
ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS
CLEANER AIR
“The down time for cleaning and
un-jamming other brands with
internal hinges inside flexi arms just
costs too much,” say Geoff Ebdon,
sales manager at NZDuct+Flex. For
workshops who can only handle
240V, a new ‘plug and play’ model,
from Danish supplier Geovent, is
now available. Fume extraction specialists NZDuct+Flex work closely with
European suppliers in 2019 to launch two new mobiles.
NZDuct+Flex has
had a busy year
fighting fumes and
says it is pleased
to have had
the opportunity
to assist so many workshops in
achieving their wish for cleaner air
this year.
Universities, laboratories, technical
colleges, jewelry manufacturers,
schools, random metal bashers,
artists and a whole variety of
situations where welders are
working, have all benefited
from a new fume solution from
NZDuct+Flex.
The popular fume extraction
method, an ‘open’ shutter door (one
at each end if you are lucky), used
by so many welding workshops,
not only leaves staff exposed to
the weather, but is dangerously
inefficient, allowing both welders
and any other staff in the building to
breathe harmful fumes before they
finally dissipate out the door. And
with Worksafe inspector’s vigilant
activity, the phones have been red
hot at the company’s office with
customers needing a ‘proper’ fix to
their fume issues.
Truly efficient fume extraction that
effectively removes fumes, smells
and associated dusts, must be
operated as close to where these
problems are generated as possible.
It is well documented that fumes
not captured, are hazardous to staff,
giving immediate discomfort such
as dry throats and itchy respiratory
tract symptoms , but many years
later causing a range of untreatable
respiratory illnesses.
Sourced from two major European
suppliers, Oskar Air Products and
Geovent, NZDuct+Flex has the
full range of arms, mobiles and
fume filters to extract the
problem away from any
fume scenario.
2019 has been a great
year for the company
as they have introduced
teo new models to
complement its mobile
FumeCube range.
Fume mobiles are an ideal
addition to a workshop
where the welders are
either working on different
areas of large equipment so
fixed extraction to individual
bays is not possible, or where
a small to medium workshop
may have a couple of welders
working, needing extraction
randomly – the unit can be
moved to where it is required
(with a power source) and then
wheeled out of the way when not
needed.
For mobile solutions,
NZDuct+Flex offers 1-arm or
2-arm Fume Cubes: 3-phase
units, solid but compact, with
a pre-mesh filter for sparks, pull
out cartridge (F9) filter and fan all
in one unit.
The arms supplied are solid
metal with external hinging to
make maintenance as minimal
as possible –no jamming up
due to debris inside affecting the
hinge mechanism occurs on these
arms.
The fume arm range and fans which
make up a static welding/fume
solution are also all in stock at and
its installation team has installed
hundreds over the last 10 years.
“Our suppliers have been around
for decades and their products
have been tried and tested and
enhanced over this time. No other
company can offer what we offer
in NZ, a source of Liplock modular
ducting components, fans, and
fume filtration units, guaranteed
to work as a system efficiently and
effectively,” says Mr Ebdon.
