DRINKtech NEW ZEALAND EXCITING EXPORTS Anchorage Family Estate has appointed two new distribution channels through partnership with top American wine producer and importer WX Brands after signing contracts with both Trader Joes in the United States and Majestic Wines in Britain. 44 DRINKtech NEW ZEALAND NOVEMBER 2017 Bottled water is a growing market in Saudi Arabia, with an expanding population focusing on health resulting in a dramatically larger demand for both still and carbonated water. When the Kingdom-based Health Water Bottling Company decided to add two bottling lines to its world-breaking original system, it differentiated itself from the competition by being innovative…and added several new global records to its tally. The company leads the way with its Nova water brand. In the Greater Middle East region, the top ten countries represent 92% of the total volume of the beverage market. Of these, Saudi Arabia is second only to Turkey and, according to forecasts, the market for PET-bottled water in the Kingdom is expected to grow by 7.3% over the current fouryear period to 2020. Anchorage’s Chris Drummond says the news is perfect for the Nelson region, as the area already commands a position within New Zealand as a top tourism destination. “The Nelson/Tasman region is known for its sunshine hours and arable land for fruit and vegetable production, allowing for good grape growing and wine yield,” he says. “These contracts will allow Anchorage Family Estate to further establish our brand in an international market, and ensconce the Nelson region as a competitive grape growing and wine production region.” Majestic Wines is the largest specialist wine retailer in the United Kingdom, and prides itself on having experience, product availability and superb customer service.
