perfectly even under the highest demands of this team’s asking. We believe the alignment Ash Air as an Official Supplier to Emirates Team New Zealand proved to be effective and our passion and commitment matches that of Emirates Team New Zealand. STAND UP AND BE COUNTED... A D V E R T I S E M E N T Emirates Team New Zealand won The Americas Cup helps to reignite our commitment, amongst other more important benefits. We can shout it from the hilltops that we, in some small way at least, helped Emirates Team New Zealand win, and there’s value within our organisation as much out with this success. Align your business with Ash Air. We can offer you the same product as Emirates Team New Zealand relied upon to win The America’s Cup. After all, our business is all about strategic partnerships. Ash Air has already put their hand up to support Emirates Team New Zealand for the next Americas Cup. If you’re looking for air compressor or vacuum pump equipment, call Ash Air. We’ll support you all the way to your winning goal too! Glen McLean, National Procurement Manager, Ash Air. Why stand up and offer to become an Official Supplier for Emirates Team New Zealand or another worthy cause? What we used to call ‘sponsorship’ years ago is now called a ‘strategic partnership’. Somehow marketers wiggled their way into what was once a reasonably easy process and complicated it with fancy words. The function is still the same however, support for free or at a reduced cost to an organisation in exchange for some marketing leverage or just to quietly know you’ve given something back. Ash Air got involved with Emirates Team New Zealand four campaigns ago. We were flattered by the approach and of course took up the offer to become an Official Supplier. The details of this kind of agreement vary and of course our agreement with Emirates came with a nondisclosure agreement not just on the technology we supply or witness, but the agreement itself is supposed to be kept confidential. Needless to say that a standard Official Supplier Agreement will have several components. Firstly, an offer of equipment or services free of charge to a set value to qualify for the agreement. There on in the goods and services offered at cost. That’s the giving bit. The strategic partnership bit of an agreement gives back in ways that cost the recipient less. In the instance with Emirates Team New Zealand and Ash Air’s agreement, we place the Official Supplier logo on every invoice, on our website and some staff choose to show their support in their email signatures. We get to see the yard and get little tours through the place as the boat is built. We get to take some of our treasured clients out for a ride on the chase boat to follow the sailboat during training sessions. We also get to celebrate with the team when they get back with ‘The Cup’! It is astounding just how many of our clients make positive comment on our support for Emirates Team New Zealand. The networking of Official Suppliers has seen commercial interaction and these sales alone have been of high value to Ash Air. Is there value in being an Official Supplier? Yes. Perhaps we could have levered off the partnership more, marketers will always say that.
