L I M I T E D NZ's only GAF Filterbag Stockholding HAWKE’S BAY COOLSTORE TO HANDLE DOUBLE-DIGIT GROWTH Call 0800 423 477 today! Leaders in Liquid Filtration Supplier to NZ industries for 20 years Specialist in Liquid Filtration FT075 Two of Hawke’s Bay’s biggest growers are sharing new state-of-the-art 8600sq metre coolstore facilities in Flaxmere…but the local industry could use another 10 like it as double-digit growth is expected. Bostock New Zealand and Mr Apple will store 30,000 bins at the new facility, but are already planning a stage two and further developments, the companies say. Bostock owner John Bostock has just returned from China, and says the future is “absolutely amazing.” The Chinese market appreciates the colour and taste of Hawke’s Bay fruit, and also the image of New Zealand, he says. The coolstore, the region’s largest single-room facility, provides full traceability which, in turn, brings higher prices “from customers who are assured their apples are being grown naturally in pure Hawke’s Bay,” Bostock says. Mr Apple chief executive Andrew Van Workum said the two companies had collaborated over many years and were strengthening sales networks, especially into Asia.
