26 July 2016 LINAK, DAVE JOHNS “We had a lot less leads than we have in the past, quite a lot less,” says Dave Johns, “but the quality of leads was much higher than ever before.” Mr Johns adds that the team at Linak are following up on about 45 “really strong” leads which he hopes can be converted into sales. The Linak teams plans to return to EMEX 2018. He adds that overall there are no complaints and it was great to see a show well supported by the engineering industry. MILSON METALS, HAMISH PATTERSON It was the first time we’ve exhibited at EMEX. We didn’t know what to expect but it far exceeded our expectations. The stands were very busy and that equated to business. We were there to expose our Kormax brand and the relevant visitors to the show was outstanding and so was the response to our brand. We’ll be back. The vibe was so positive and the guys are keen to do it again. A good percentage of the people through were in the right position to make decisions. Following on from EMEX we will be looking at SouthMACH too. We went to this show to see what it was all about, we’d never done a tradeshow and based on the positivity and the results we are definitely looking at doing more. SPROCKETS, GEOFF HEMSTRA It was very good, it was even better than two years ago. The quality of leads was super. I noticed quite a few South Islanders than previously. I’ve been to three EMEX show and I was surprised at seeing more than 20 people I knew from the South Island. Having talked to them they said it was their first visit. We got the sort of people through the stand that we wanted to meet, it ticked all the boxes. They were people who had heard of us but we weren’t currently dealing with so it was fantastic to be able to get to meet them and tell them about what we can offer. We’ve already picked and booked our stand for SouthMACH 2017. AUTOBEND, WAYNE STREET Very worthwhile. Not only from a perspective to show what we are all about but also the opportunity to see what is happening out there in the industry. This was our second EMEX, designed to promote the Auckland side of the business but there were spin offs for the business as a whole. I couldn’t believe the efforts that some of the exhibitors went to... to set up working lasers, water jets, lathes... pretty spectacular stuff. We got quite a few leads from the show and we are following up on those. We’ve had opportunity to quote for quite a few customers.
