The company was created in 2014 following the merger of cutting tool specialists Dormer Tools and Pramet Tools. Its combined product assortment now encompasses indexable tools – marketed under the Pramet brand – alongside the established Dormer range of rotary tools. To support the introduction into New Zealand, Dormer Pramet has appointed Southern Cutting Technology (SCT) Ltd as the exclusive supplier of both its Dormer and Pramet assortments in the country. Based in Christchurch, SCT will hold substantial stock of both brands to support next day delivery of key lines into most areas of the North and South Islands.
