Nippon Steel’s SF and SM range of flux cored and metal cored wires are produced in a unique
manufacturing process which includes dehydrogenation, seam welding and copper coating to ensure
very low hydrogen levels and maximum protection against moisture.
Distributed by Welding Engineers NZ Ltd, the range is so impervious to moisture pick-up that Nippon
seamless wires can be welded with the wire spool operating in a fish tank full of water.
The risks of hydrogen cracking in welds are minimised and, as the Nippon SF and SM wires are highly
resistant to corrosion, no special storage requirements and long-life.
While there are many more features and benefits to these premium Japanese wires, the key point is that
the improvements in efficiency and cost effectiveness of the Nippon SF and SM wires will well outweigh
any small increase in upfront cost, in almost all welding jobs.
