Vesconite Hilube is Vesconite Bearing’s flagship self-lubricating no-swell thermopolymer, and has been designed for particularly difficult operating environments. It is specifically and traditionally recommended for moist and underwater applications, including the pump and marine industries, where regular maintenance is not practically feasible or cost-effective. However, because the polymer is pleasant, smooth and warm to the touch, extremely hard wearing, and not easily scuffed due to its high hardness and special wear resistant qualities, these qualities make it well suited to craft applications. With Vesconite Hilube making a viable alternative to ivory, it could support global initiatives to ban or severely restrict the trade in elephant tusks. 6 February 2018
