FT411 and customisable nature of these solutions which allow for finishes to be tailored to the many different flooring demands encountered across a winery complex: HACCP Internationally Certified  The ability of Flowfresh to retain an ultra-hygienic finish for an extended period of time within even the most challenging of environments has been proven by its HACCP International certification. This accreditation means that winery operators can rest assured that the polyurethane floor underfoot is up to the task at hand. Polygiene The silver-ion based antimicrobial additive Polygiene is homogeneously distributed throughout every Flowfresh floor. This empowers the coating with the ability to eliminate up to 99.9% of bacteria on the surface of the floor. This property meets ISO 22196, the standard by which a surface’s antibacterial effectiveness is measured. Seamless and Impervious Floors that are both seamless and impervious are ideal for hygiene reasons, as the cleaning regime can quickly and easily wash unwanted contaminants out of the area. In contrast, unprotected concrete floors can become porous and cracked, which provides hazardous bacteria with hiding spaces where they can build up out of the cleaning routine’s reach. Chemical Resistance Daily winery operations can expose the floor to a variety of chemicals, as ingredients and stored produce can spill onto the floor and affect the finish over time. For example, fermentation areas will require a thick, hard-wearing and chemically-resistant polyurethane coating such as Flowfresh so that the floor won’t deteriorate when exposed to sugars, acids and chemicals. Thermal Resistance The magic temperature to store wines is between 12-16 °C. However cold stabilisation can be part of the white wine-making process with the wine being chilled to -4 °C for a few days. In addition, some areas may be cleaned with steam or hot water, so it is important that the floor selection across the facility can cope with a range of extreme temperatures. Durability The barrel room will require a strong surface to cope with the movement of heavy barrels and forklift trucks as well as point loading from well-stocked storage shelves. A thick Flowfresh coating is advisable coping with high traffic volumes or heavy impact zones. Slip Resistance Wet areas require additional levels of traction underfoot so that staff and patrons don’t suffer from a nasty slip or trip. Anti slip aggregates can be incorporated into Flowfresh during the curing process to provide the desired level of slip resistance. Falls to Floor Flowfresh can be sloped and graded towards drains to direct the flow of water, preventing liquid overflow and the pooling water becoming stagnant and unsanitary. Easy to Clean Coving can be easily installed along the edge of a Flowfresh floor, turning this sharp right angle between the wall and the floor, where contaminants can get trapped, into an easy-to-clean curve. Bold Colours and Gloss Finishes  A wide variety of colours, decorative blends and finishes can be chosen, which means that winery owners can select a floor that meets not only their performance requirements but also their interior design desires. For all of these reasons, installing a Flowfresh finish in a winery is a significant asset for the wine producer, as it will help to ensure that the wine is made and stored in as safe and sanitary an environment as possible.
