MAKING EVERY POST A WINNER When Auckland-based DM Laser set about a new legacy of engineering – a spin off from the parent company DisplayMakers – the company invested heavily in machinery and training. It had the dedicated staff. It had the vision. Now it wants your business. DM Laser took things to the next level through a solid investment in machinery thanks to the purchase of an out-of-box laser cutter from Amada – the LCG3015. It was a dedicated investment in moving the company forward and being able to provide an absolute one-stop shop as the company, essentially, went about setting up its new engineering division. Now, DM Laser has the machine up and running and producing amazing jobs. “The quality of workmanship is what sets us apart,” says company owner Mike Penney. “We’ve placed a lot more emphasis on steel and metal engineering, so combined with DisplayMakers we offer it all, in nearly any material you can think of.” 36 December 2017 WHAT WE DO High Speed Laser Cutting Fast turnaround with cutting edge technology Plus Complete fabrication service CNC Fold Roll Weld Fabricate Assemble 3D MODELING. The industries and market segments roll of his tongue as if by second nature today, but that’s only the case after a full business evaluation to see if they were keeping up with technology, so they could indeed fully service those and future markets. “We ended up putting in new CNC routing and full cabinetry plant as well as a plastics facility, because although we were doing the steel all our customers wanted access to our other materials and offerings as well.
