The time spent greasing could be more profitably used, he says. Although some bronze greasing is automated, much re-lubrication is performed by hand using a grease gun. This means that the time spent greasing one grease point totals between three and five minutes for the staff member involved, be they a lube technician, a maintenance engineer or the equipment operator. While some grease points need to be greased weekly or monthly, some grease points might have to be greased once a day, seven days a week. For equipment requiring high-frequency greasing, or for a large plant or fleet, the time LONG-TERM GRAFFITI PROTECTION 8 September 2017 commitment for lubrication could snowball, adding to an already substantial lubrication labour burden. Switching to Vesconite is the solution when you have more to do than grease. It’s a bit like a transparent paint. The finish is slightly gloss so it will change the appearance of a matt natural stone for example. Once a substrate has been coated with Sikagard-850 AG, tagging can be removed quickly just by using basic water jetting, hosing with cold water, or simply rubbing the tag with a wet cloth. There is no need to use hot water or any aggressive, environmentally unfriendly cleaning agents Sikagard-850 AG is UV and heat resistant and water vapour breathable too. For more information, and to see videos of how easy it is to remove graffiti from many different Sikagard-850 AG coated substrates. www.sika.co.nz
