It is now very easy to insert shelves on several levels for interior separation according as needed. In addition, the opening mechanism of the crossbars along the inner and outer radii guarantees fast filling with cables and hoses. These captive crossbars, which can be opened with a screwdriver, can be pivoted open to 115 degrees and latched into their final position. If necessary, they can even be removed completely, fitted again and closed by just pressing down. The rounded edges of the crossbars and separators of the chain also ensure a long service life of hoses and cables. In addition, notches and a positioning scale enable optimum separation of the energy chain. In addition to special harnessing, the user can take advantage of igus‘ 20 years of experience in this area. Igus offers harnessed systems from a single source, whether they be simple or complex, from planning and design of the energy chain systems through to individual harnessing and on-site installation. Readychain from igus is the ideal combination of energy chain and matching cables for moving applications - and all this from a single source, whose services range from planning and design of the energy chain systems to individual harnessing with cables and on-site installation. All moving components were developed, tested and optimised to work with each other in igus‘ own test laboratory. With these readychains, customers receive a complete and reliable pre-harnessed system direct from the manufacturer, including a guarantee. At the same time, the number of suppliers and orders can be reduced by up to 75%, while storage and process costs are avoided. COPPER PRESS-FIT THE COST OF NOT MAKING THE SWITCH Since the release of the Kempress copper press-fit system to the market, the speed and safety benefits of the system over traditional copper brazed fittings has been increasingly recognised, with more and more adopting the press-fit technology. A recent study in Australia looked at the cost comparison between brazed copper fittings and Copper press-fit fittings, taking in to account both material and labour costs. The results clearly showed that although the initial material costs of using copper press-fit are at present more expensive, the labour was a significant 21% cheaper than the cost of labour for brazed fittings. The overall installation cost (materials and labour) when using copper press-fit fittings was 10% cheaper. The comparison of installation time was also measured, showing the copper press-fit fittings as a substantial 21% faster than using brazed fittings. Market feedback also supports this comparison, with reported average installation times to be at least 30% faster than brazed fittings. Other major benefits of using copper press-fit fittings is the elimination of need for heat permits. This benefit has been magnified further with the recent health and safety legislation changes. No heat permits equate to further time and cost savings. Utilising the latest technology of the KemPress copper press-fit system allows businesses to offer shorter project schedules, as well as being more cost effective. So the question must be asked: What will be the opportunity cost to your business if you don’t make the switch? For more information on the KemPress copper press-fit system visit www.kembla.co.nz.
