This year’s SouthMach industry show not only had all the good oil on show but provided an avenue to grease the future engineering gears. Engineering News will have a special post show wrap in our July issue, but we just had to give you a sneak peak of what was on offer and it included a good dose of gearing up the future of our industry. Aside from promoting a footpath for students into the industry, suppliers were on offer to explain the benefits of their products and systems while our own sales manager Keith Falloon got schooled on his welding technique. The appointment takes effect immediately and follows several months of discussions between the two parties culminating in a plan for growth put forward by Liftrucks that clearly impressed the Still executives in Germany. “We are delighted to have been given the opportunity to market and distribute this iconic brand which already has a presence in the New Zealand market and boasts a great reputation globally, particularly in Europe,” says Liftrucks managing director, Paul Robson. “Still Forklifts are now part of Liftrucks New Zealand family that already has in its stable the recently added Bendi articulated forklifts and Komatsu Forklifts. Once again this gives us the chance to demonstrate the effectiveness of our sales and after-market support package, says Paul.” From IC to battery electric Still has a wide range of forklift types for both indoor and outdoor applications. Of particular interest to New Zealand companies will be the range of electric forklifts which have the option of being powered by either a wet cell or a lithium battery which requires only one battery for multiple shifts due to effective interim charging. High performance has a long tradition at Still. What the company founder Hans Still set in motion in 1920 has developed it into the leading supplier of materials handling equipment. The key to the company’s success is its highly efficient products that have provided solutions for large and small operations. SouthMach17 a training/ knowledge haven N E W S
