S T O C K TA K E POWERING UP WITH FRONIUS With the new TPS/i CMT welding system, Fronius is combining the smart functions of its latest power source platform with the advantages of the most stable welding process. The cold metal transfer welding process produces outstanding results with diverse materials while the innovative TPS/i MIG/MAG power source impresses with its extensive range of settings and applications. Users benefit from significantly improved efficiency and quality with the new system. The centrepiece of the TPS/i CMT is the new and improved PullMig welding torch. Not only is it lighter, more robust and more durable than its predecessor, but above all it is cooler. As well as wearing significantly more slowly, the welding torch KEEPING AN EYE ON THE PRIZE EVT offers three ZYNQ platforms for the EyeVision machine vision software. With this variety of ZYNQ cameras, the software user is given a hardware platform for every application of the software. The systems are based on a DualCore ARM with FPGA. Therefore even challenging image evaluation in real time can be solved by programming the FPGA. The tiniest member of the ZYNQ family is hardly bigger than a finger. With only 20 x 20 50 mm housing size, the EyeCheck ZQ smart camera can also be used for applications where there is not much space for 46 March 2017 also impresses with its more stable arc. Fronius has also optimised the wirefeed through the addition of a dynamic and precise servomotor. This allows the push-pull the camera. The S-Mount adapter and the integrated illumination, allows the user to realise even challenging image evaluation. The EyeCheck ZQ has 10 freely programmable IOs and interfaces such as Ethernet, RS485 and CAN. In cases where the space is not limited, a bigger ZYNQ smart camera can be used, such as a camera of the EyeCheck 4xxx, or EyeCheck 9xxx series. With a C-Mount lens adapter and more I/O interfaces the cameras are suitable for almost all applications. Also welding torch to work in perfect harmony with the TPS/i’s rapid arc control. Ease of use has not been overlooked either: the handle of the welding torch no longer needs to be opened in order to thread a new wire. The CMT welding process significantly reduces the heat input in comparison to other MIG/MAG processes. This results in spatter-free material transfer yielding optimal welding results. The process offers particular advantages when joining different materials, for example steel and aluminium, as well as sheets of a lighter gauge. Its combination with the intelligent TPS/i power source opens up an even greater range of application areas. Numerous settings options allow the heat input during welding to be precisely regulated, while the gap-bridging ability and penetration profile can be optimised. All stainless steel construction allows handling of corrosive materials and/or wash down between runs of contamination-sensitive food, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical and chemical products. Castors mounted at the base of the bin allow it to be rolled away from processing areas for a complete wash down. Boxes measuring 915 to 1220 mm on a side and 990 to 1117 mm in height are loaded at floor level and raised hydraulically to seat against a discharge hood. The assembly is then hydraulically elevated and tipped, which mates the spout of the discharge hood to a gasketed receiving ring installed on the lid of the mobile bin. The dust-tight connection allows opening of a pneumatically-actuated slide gate and discharging of material into the bin with no contamination of the product or plant environment, while permitting partially-empty boxes to be returned to the plant floor with no dusting. Once the bin is rolled or forklifted to a downstream process, material flows through a pneumaticallyactuated slide gate into a vibratory feeder equipped with eccentric weights for gentle, volumetric metering. www.flexicon.com.au
