FOOD TECH SHOW IMPRESSES WITH SIZE AND QUALITY 14 OCTOBER 2016 SHOW HIGHLIGHTS It was the place to be seen in the food technology world in New Zealand for 2016…and it lived up to its promise. New Zealand’s biennial food and beverage manufacturing, packaging and processing technology trade event, Foodtech Packtech (FTPT), wowed with its size and sheer scale last week, and was visited by thousands of people from across the country over three days. Nearly 200 exhibiting companies – including several from Australia - showcased their latest technologies, products and services to inspire New Zealand’s food and beverage industries. Held at the ASB Showgrounds in Auckland, the event covered all facets of food and packaging industry capability. The expo’s 2016 theme, Adding Value to New Zealand’s Food Chain, was dominant over the three days through live product demonstrations, special features and a full schedule of free industry-led education and learning seminars. Co-located with the Materials Handling & Logistics Expo (MHL) this year, the expo assisted in completing the value chain ‘pasture (or sea) to plate capability’ for food manufacturers. XPO Exhibitions event manager Deb Haimes says with every Foodtech Packtech expo, the buzz grows. “With world-class seminars, the cream of suppliers and a myriad of opportunities to network and do beneficial business, this has certainly been the not-to-be-missed event for 2016.” More information on who was there is available from www.foodtechpacktech.co.nz.
