F O O D T E C H PA C K T E C H www.foodtechnology.co.nz 31 Chances are that if you live in the Auckland region you’ve heard the Northern Forklifts radio ads - “Hangcha Forklifts , no plastic, no computers, just real steel.” And that’s what they are, with rugged exteriors that are very damage resistant, matched with heavy duty petrol/LPG and diesel drive trains – real forklifts for real work. The Hangcha electric forklift and warehouse equipment range is a little different. The basic trucks are still built to be tough outside, but inside is some pretty darn sophisticated and up to date electronics designed to give the sort of performance that’s needed on the ground. There’s a nicely balanced mixture of under the skin technology and old-school surface controls where appropriate. 'High spec’ AC drive and hydraulic motors with Curtis controllers deliver performance and battery efficiency where it counts, while good old lever controls mounted on rugged dashboards are totally functional and don’t fail if they get a bit dusty or damp, and are even resistant to things falling on them or other catastrophic events. The warehouse range of pallet trucks and stackers is built the same way – no, they don’t have lever controls, but the steer handle is very nicely designed to be easy to use while still chunky and strong. We’re particularly happy to have the A Series warehouse and 1-3.5 tonne electrics out in the field. We love them in our rental fleet as they look great, have excellent productivity and performance, are very reliable and don’t give our service techs much work and it’s fair to say that if you choose to buy rather than lease, the same good things apply, and on the odd occasion there is a breakdown, repair costs won’t be heart-stopping. Definitely the Real Deal!
