SYFT TECHNOLOGIES Christchurch-based Syft Technologies designs and manufactures revolutionary direct mass spectrometry instrumentation (SIFT-MS) that detects virtually all gaseous chemicals at ultra-trace concentrations within seconds. Its flagship product – the Voice200ultra SIFT-MS instrument – is a global leader in ultra-sensitive, comprehensive gas analysis. The company's instruments deliver a combination of unique attributes such as high selectivity, low limits of detection, high speed, ease of use, 42 Annual Directory 2017 and low total cost of ownership. Analysis of chromatographically challenging species is a unique feature, including reduced sulfur compounds, amines, aldehydes, and siloxanes. Recent innovation has focused on automating analysis by integrating state-of-the-art autosampler technology from Gerstel in Germany. Traditionally, automated gas analysis has been the domain of chromatographic techniques, which are limited by the slow chromatographic process itself. By automating SIFT-MS analysis, Syft Technologies has developed a very high-throughput gas analysis system that revolutionises gas and headspace analysis, providing new opportunities for both contract and R&D laboratories from environmental analysis to food testing and pharma. Syft Technologies’ customers include multinationals such as Samsung, LG, SC Johnson, and The Kraft Heinz Company in addition to government agencies and others in industries as diverse as environmental monitoring, food manufacturing, and biomedical research. This included three large spray dryers, a specialty dryer, a state-of-the-art consumer packaging facility and a quality testing laboratory. It currently has 140,000 metric tonnes of annual production capacity and can package up to 30,000 metric tonnes of canned infant formula with its SYNTHSTROM AUDIBLE Synthstrom Audible has made a name for itself three years since establishment with the launch of ‘Deluge’ – a portable sequencer, synthesiser and sampler designed in Newtown, Wellington, by Rohan Hill. This innovative electronic music instrument – which has received global acclaim – features 128 RGB pads arranged in a 16 by eight grid; a built-in synthesiser; up to 12 minutes of sample playback from SD card; and sequencing up to thousands of notes. Its unique interface for creating and editing musical note information, including during a performance, has set it apart from other products in its category. So too has the sheer number of features it sports as a result of being the only hardware groove box to support sequencing, synthesis, and sample playback from an SD card. The specialised world of hardware synthesiser enthusiasts is well catered to by the Deluge, which features USB, MIDI, CV, gate and trigger clock connectivity, allowing it interface with a vast array of other equipment, new and old - something that customers demand. It will be exhibited at the CES 2017 in Las Vegas. For now, the Wellington existing infrastructure. In September 2016 Synlait announced its next growth phase in which it expects to invest approximately $300 million in capital growth projects The automated Voice200ultra SIFT-MS instrument – designed, engineered and manufactured by Syft Technologies. over three years. This will include additional capacity for infant formula manufacture, consumer packaging, infrastructure requirements and value added cream manufacturing. startup has its sights firmly fixed on the global marketplace by filling a niche in the market that far larger companies have left untended while delivering a world-class product with minimal resources.
