S T O C K TA K E Hypertherm, a US based manufacturer of plasma, laser, and waterjet cutting systems, is introducing a lower-amp SilverPlus electrode. This new electrode, for its HyPerformance family of plasma cutting systems, is designed for cutting at 80 amps. Like all SilverPlus electrodes, the new 80 amp electrode is proven in Hypertherm laboratory testing to last more than twice as long as a standard copper electrode. Instead of replacing the electrode at a pit depth of 0.040 of an inch as recommended with standard electrodes. SilverPlus electrodes are designed to last to a pit depth of 0.080 of an inch. In addition, the electrode delivers a very consistent range 4 and 5 cut quality throughout its life, allowing SIRIUS OFFERS POSSIBILITIES ULTRA PRECISION IS NUM Advanced CNC systems from Num are helping US machine tool control specialist CNC Onestop to maintain its competitive market edge through use of ultra precise positioning techniques. CNC Onestop is a CNC engineering company that specialises in full CNC, motor and drive retrofits for machine tools, as well as machine rebuilds and troubleshooting. Its main area of business is in grinding machines – including OD, ID, non-round and punch grinding, as well as thread grinding – that provide sub-micron accuracy. The company’s customer base spans a diverse mix of aerospace, medical, marine, defence and high-tech industries. 38 November 2016 The core of Num's cylindrical grinding CNC solutions is a flexible software package known as ProCAM. This features a highly intuitive graphical human-machine interface (HMI) which uses simple conversational style programming. It is used in conjunction with embedded CNC grinding and dressing cycles, with direct hyperlinks to CAD files or other pertinent grinding production data, to facilitate efficient manufacture of a diverse range of workpieces with a variety of wheel forms. ProCAM software is designed primarily to address the requirements of OD, ID or OD/ ID with either a horizontal or vertical machine layout. www.num.com SILVERPLUS LINING A CUT ABOVE owners to lower their operating cost, with no impact on cut quality or speed. The electrodes, protected by patent, are created by fusing a completely solid silver tip on to a copper electrode base. A hafnium pin is then inserted into the tip. This serves to dramatically slow the wear rate for both the electrode and nozzle as silver disperses heat better than copper. Hypertherm’s electrodes are further differentiated from competitive and aftermarket consumables by a superior bond between the copper and silver. This results in more consistent wear rates, deeper pit depths, and more robustness to ramp down errors and hard failures.   In addition to the new 80 amp electrode introduced today, Hypertherm also offers 130, 200, 260, and 400 amp versions with similar performance.  www.hypertherm.com The Dewesoft SIRIUS line offers endless configuration possibilities from 4-channel 200 KS/ch distributed USB solutions to high speed 128 channel standalone solutions with internal PC and display. The instruments can be configured with a range of amplifiers to acquire data from virtually any kind of sensor source, Amplifiers are split into 3 families: high dynamic dual core for full possible measuring range, 2x24 bit ADC @ 200 KHz 160dB dynamic range; high density for highest channel count, 1x24 bit ADC @ 200 KHz 120dB dynamic range; and high speed for high bandwidth, 16 bit ADC up to 2 MHz 120dB dynamic range. With the available amplifiers the SIRIUS line of instruments can support almost any kind of signal and sensor including - Analog: Voltage up to ±1000V, accelerometers, charge sensors, strain gauges, load cells, pressure sensors, thermocouples RTS, and more. Each amplifier channel is galvanically isolated unless otherwise specified. www.metromatics.com.au
