2016 Conference 8-9-10 November 2016 Claudelands Event Centre, Hamilton, New Zealand www.engineeringnews.co.nz 9 New home for Bendi Bendi articulated forklifts is to be distributed under a new name but they have also moved their sales and service operation across town to Onehunga. After many years with Power Forklifts, Bendi, a leader in ar ticulated forklifts has recently decided to create a stronger marketing presence for its brand in this country. Bendi New Zealand is now part of Liftrucks New Zealand; the local Komatsu Lifting the game of Maintenance Engineering in New Zealand Principal NMEC Sponsor Official Media Sponsor Official Speaker Sponsor Social Function Sponsor EN110 forklift distributor whose parent company is the long established and respected, Camson Hire. Camson Hire was established back in the 1970’s by Blair Robson providing forklifts rentals and new and used forklift sales. Paul Robson now runs the family based operation and under his guidance the company has achieved considerable growth in recent years. “Bendi has a great reputation globally as the manufacturer of the world’s most efficient and innovative articulated forklift trucks,” says managing director, Mr Robson. “From being the lone articulated truck in the market Bendi has lead the warehouse revolution and has continued to dominate this sector for over 30 years. It’s a great fit for us.” The Bendi articulated forklift was initially invented to reduce the number of forklift trucks required in a single warehouse. The result being a counterbalance forklift that is as comfortable working outside as it is inside whist at the same time proving itself to be more efficient when operating in extremely narrow aisles. Bendi is a world leader in ar ticulated forklift design. Since starting in 1964, its focus has been on producing warehouse and materials handling products that are more cost effective and make the best use of the warehouse space. Over the years Bendi has been particularly interested in receiving customer feedback and has responded by introducing innovative new performance features that have included taller lift heights and reductions in aisle width. This has assisted in creating serious storage capacity gains for its customers. Today’s Bendi products have been forged on the back of this resulting in an ability to perform in aisles as narrow as 1.7 metres and being able to lift a full load as high as 12.5 metres whilst still retaining its yard work ability. It also possesses a 220-degree mast rotation steering system, which is "the envy of its competitors." Operator comfort is not lost on Bendi either with all models having ergo- nomic and safety features that are second to none. Bendi New Zealand has three well-performed forklifts in its range including the popular B318 FWD, the B320 FWD and B420 RWD models. The Bendi B318 FWD in particular is a multi-purpose battery operated forklifts that can lift up to 1800kg and has a lift height of nine metres. Capable of storing pallets in aisles as narrow as 1.6 metres, the B318 FWD provides more space and savings than a normal counterbalance or reach truck has to offer.
