Following on from the purchase of CMG Electric Motors, the company is now in the process of positioning the CMG brand underneath its centuryold, highly respected Marathon flagship brand. Ken Degois, product manager IHP, for Regal SEAP, says: “Moving forward all our electric motors or what we call our IHP (industrial horse power) platform will be branded Marathon”. Regal Beloit recognised the brand equity acquired with the CMG PPA mining series motor platform (previously Pope Australia) and will continue to promote this mining series under the Marathon branding transition delivering enhanced specification and innovation in an ever-changing global market. Marathon is what Mr Degois describes as a global leader, with the US-based manufacturer the longest standing within the current global marketplace.
