S T O C K TA K E THE GOOD OIL IN AUTOMATIC LUBRICATION The latest series of FAG motion guard automatic lubrication devices from bearings leader Schaeffler is providing Australasian industry with an economical and environmentally friendly method of keeping bearings in vital machinery and plant adequately lubricated. The motion guard automatic lubricator series is used for controlled relubrication by continuously supplying a sufficient quantity of fresh grease to the correct contact points of the roller bearing at the correct time to prevent undersupply or oversupply of lubrication. “Using motion guard is the most economical and environmentally-friendly method of supplying grease to rolling bearings,” says Mark Ciechanowicz, industrial services manager, Schaeffler Australia. “It is fully automatic and virtually maintenance free. By providing the precise amount required for a particular rolling bearing, there is no wastage and service life is maximised.” www.schaeffler.com.au CHOICE IN PLASTICS AND FASTENING Hi-Q Components has been supplying plastic and electronic components to the electronic, engineering and general industries for over 30 years and its vast range of fixing and fastening solutions remain a popular choice. The majority of plastic components are made of nylon 6/6 which is tough, durable and corrosionresistant in normal temperatures. There is also a range of assorted kits available that are handy for prototypes, product design and maintenance. Kits feature selections from washers, plastic spacers, 38 July 2016 rivets, cable clips, insulating bushes, grommets, screws/nuts, hole plugs and PCB supports. For engineering and assembly there is an excellent range of nylon screws, nuts, bolts and washers available in metric and imperial sizes. Threaded rod in 1-metre lengths are available in M3-M20 sizes. Nylon washers - in many sizes - are available as flat, selfretaining and insulating. An array of quick, convenient fastenings such as snap, ratchet, screw rivets, arrow, keyhole, snap clips and push in fasteners are also available. Blank and finish holes through to panels, locking/ non-locking hole plugs, insulating bushes and grommets will complete the job. For cable management, there are many choices available including cable glands, cable ties, cable clips, twist ties, ‘P’ clips and wire saddles as well as screw, clip and self-adhesive parts. Point of sale and display solutions include a range of suction cups, rubber bumpers and feet and magnetic hooks. “These parts have previously been difficult to find for a lot of customers and we have many parts available from stock,” says managing director, Richard Higham. They are now available from Iscar Plus. Machinists who use Albrecht can expect rigidity, accuracy, a higher chip removal rate, and 100% process reliability. Attention to detail is what makes Albrecht chucks high-quality. For the chucks to achieve their high level of rigidity and accuracy, in-process gauges are used to check all components at each stage of the manufacturing process. Upon assembly, each chuck is qualified with four to six different diameter test pins at two distinct locations on each pin. This attention to detail means extreme accuracy, leading to uniform wear over time, and resulting in a longer tool life and all the advantages that come with that.
