Early Bird Registration Competition www.engineeringnews.co.nz 43 C&P2016: a Meeting of the Minds for Corrosion Management Corrosion continues to be an economic threat to industry and the wider community as well as a physical threat to infrastructure and personal safety. A report released this year by NACE International highlights the massive cost to industry but also indicates the savings that can be made through effective implementation and utilisation of available corrosion prevention technologies and processes. Industry experts and leading researchers from around the world will be meeting in New Zealand in November for the Australasian Corrosion Association (ACA)’s Corrosion & Prevention 2016. The four-day gathering of world experts on corrosion mitigation will feature a program of keynote speakers and technical presentations and is expected to attract more than 400 delegates. Taking place in Auckland’s Sky City Convention Centre between 13-16 November 2016, the conference will bring together leading researchers and industry practitioners who combat corrosion on a daily basis. An extensive exhibition of key industry suppliers will also run in conjunction with the conference. As always, C&P2016 will be a source for the latest information concerning corrosion prevention, control and repair, in addition to being a premium networking event as well. Substantially reducing both direct and indirect corrosion costs requires more than just technology; it requires integrating corrosion management policies and procedures into the overall management system of an organisation. To this end, diverse technical streams will showcase the latest developments in the field, ranging from fundamental corrosion science to hands-on application. C&P2016 will be of value to people working in a wide range of industries, including construction, oil & gas, mining, cultural and historical materials preservation, power generation, maritime, asset management, food processing and defence. The ACA is a not-for-profit, membership Association which provides training, seminars, conferences, publications and other activities to disseminate information about corrosion and its prevention or control. The industry association was formed in 1955 and represents companies, organisations and individuals involved in the fight against corrosion and promotes cooperation between academic, industrial, commercial and governmental organisations. The vision of the ACA is to reduce the impact of corrosion. 13–16 November SKYCITY Convention Centre Auckland, New Zealand MAJOR SPONSOR: PROUDLY PRESENTED BY: Register for Corrosion & Prevention 2016 before Friday 19 August to go into the draw to win • Four night’s accommodation in the 4.5 star SkyCity Hotel • A SkyWalk Experience for 2 people Total prize value over $1400 Terms and conditions For full competition terms and conditions please refer to www.acaconference.com.au For more information & to register go to www.acaconference.com.au EN069 YOUR SPROCKET & CHAIN SPECIALIST Sprockets NZ stock the most extensive range of sprockets and transmission chain in New Zealand, no matter what the application, we will have the solution. One of the outstanding flexibility features of Bonfiglioli’s new Australasian production and testing line for HD drives is that the company can readily adapt specific drives to particular applications. “For example, drive bearings were engineered to accept greater loads generated by the long shafts found in aerator applications. The drives are also specifically configured for applications where they are mounted vertically,” he says. Bonfiglioli’s HD series drives are also being incorporated into Bonfiglioli’s unique locally engineered drives including hi torque, alignment-free and power pack innovations. Bonfiglioli has invested extensively in state-of-the-art production technology, backed by in-house technical expertise with major investments in stocking and service.
