THE NEW M350 POWERHOUSE FROM KAESER HIGH POWER DENSITY 4 POLE BRUSHLESS MOTOR maxon motor Australia deliver the first combination of 4 pole brushless dc motor with sealed planetary gearhead and new inductive encoder for demanding subsea application. Constructed with a single tube stainless steel housing with laser welded flanges, this 4 pole brushless DC motor offers high levels of robustness and can deliver 90W of power from only 22mm diameter. High end rare earth magnets and maxon’s winding technology give the brushless motor a unique advantage 46 April 2016 of being powerful and also highly controllable. The maxon winding gives a zero magnetic cogging and the low rotor inertia allows for rapid acceleration. This is the first time maxon motor Australia have been able to offer the motor with the new EASY 16mm inductive encoder that is also sealed and perfect for use in harsh electrical or environmental conditions. Reducing the motor speed and increasing the torque is a 26mm planetary gearhead with rubber seals fitted to the bearing for increased protection. The entire combination of parts form a powerful, controllable brushless DC servo drive. www.maxonmotor.com.au COUPLINGS PROVIDE ACCURATE MEASURING RESULTS Essential components for torque measuring flanges in test benches are shaft couplings, which reliably compensate for any shaft misalignments. In this way, they ensure accurate measuring results and also protect the bearings installed into the shaft train against wear. Based on the tried and tested, backlash-free and torsionally rigid ROBA®-DS construction series, mayr® power transmission offers compensating couplings which are specially tailored to the high requirements placed on them in measuring flanges. Short development times, an improved degree of efficacy or increased energy saving potential – the requirements on test benches are consistently increasing. In this way, the performance requirements are increasing on torque measuring flanges as the core of modern test benches, which themselves have to supply precise and reliable data even in maximum performance and highspeed applications. Here, however, the measuring result is always only as good as the shaft misalignment compensation coupling used, as shaft couplings are of decisive importance in order to minimise the disturbance variables affecting the measuring flange. With a free air delivery of up to 34 m³/ min, the Mobilair M 350 is the new powerhouse in Kaeser Compressors comprehensive portable compressor range. Positioned in the highest performance tier, the Mobilair M 350 offers significantly more than just impressive compressed air power; it is also exceptionally versatile, fuel-effi- ously enhanced ever since, the Kaeser Sigma Profile achieves power savings of up to 15 percent compared with conventional screw compressor block rotor profiles. All Kaeser rotary screw compressor blocks feature this energy saving rotor profile and are designed to ensure maximum energy efficiency. www.kaeser.co.nz cient with a robust design. The powerful combination of an economical Mercedes Benz engine and an efficient Kaeser rotary screw compressor block with proven Sigma Profile rotors provides impressive compressed air delivery with minimal emissions and fuel consumption.
