E M E X 2 0 1 6 When choosing a laser cutting system it is important to consider your gas supply options early in the process. By first understanding the gas supply specification of the particular laser cutting systems, you can then look at the options available to best maximise efficiency and productivity. By obtaining advice at an early stage of selection, the laser user can also better plan the installation of the required supply equipment. BOC New Zealand is able to provide a wide range of supply options for nitrogen for the laser user. Manifold cylinder pallets (MCPs): MCPs for laser cutting gases comprise 15 compressed gas cylinders connected together on a pallet. This setup is recommended for low volume occasional use, and can often be used as a backup source for other supply options. An MCP can be set up immediately with an installation kit and require a forklift to be moved. CRYOSPEED®: A cryogenic liquid supply solution suitable for low to medium volume work. Liquid deliveries are made via a compact delivery tanker, into a small high pressure Cryotank storage vessel situated onsite. This option eliminates cylinder handling, reduces 24 March 2016 gas deliveries and provides greater supply assurance. Suitable where vehicular access is difficult. Bulk supply: A cryogenic liquid supply solution suitable for high volume work. Liquid deliveries are made via a large road tanker, into a bulk storage vessel situated onsite. Two bulk supply modes are available for laser nitrogen cutting gas High pressure tank: Liquid is stored at high pressure on site. Cost effective in some situations, but has significant product losses and downtime when filled. Medium pressure tank with Laser Pump Skid: Provides a continuous supply of high pressure nitrogen for businesses who typically operate multiple laser cutting machines. A continuous supply minimises laser cutting machine downtime, therefore increases productivity and lowers operating cost. Liquid is stored at medium pressure on site meaning minimal vessel filling losses compared to high pressure cryogenic vessels. With supply methods suitable for every laser user application, from small workshops through to large 24/7 operations, BOC New Zealand are the technical experts for your gas supply.
